Everything in Writing, From First Conversation to Handoff

Nothing about working together should be a surprise. Here is the whole arc of an engagement, explained clearly to help set expectations.

01

Talk

It starts with a conversation, at no cost and with no obligation. You describe how your business runs today: what's on paper, what's in spreadsheets, what's still in development.

Sometimes the honest answer after that conversation is that you don't need a custom app yet. If that's the case, I'll say so.

02

Design and Quote

If it looks like a fit after that conversation, the next step is a design presentation: the proposed screens and workflow for your app, prepared for a fixed design fee that is stated before any design work starts. It gives you something concrete to react to before committing to a build, and if you go ahead, the design fee is applied toward the build total.

The build quote is written. For each item it states what is delivered, what is excluded, what assumptions it rests on, a fixed price, and an estimated delivery window. If a timeline depends on something from your side, like access or sample files, the quote names it so you can see what keeps your own schedule moving.

Quotes are firm for 30 days. Larger items take a deposit with the balance due on delivery; smaller items are invoiced in full on delivery, so no money is held before the work exists. Anything not described in the quote is not included, and is happily quoted separately.

03

Build

You see progress you can actually click on: the app goes up on a private test link, and you try it as it takes shape rather than at the end. Feedback during the build is expected and welcome.

If a timeline is going to slip, you hear it in writing as soon as I know, not at the deadline. Change requests are priced in writing before they are built, so the price you agreed to stays the price.

04

Deliver and Own It

The app runs on your own accounts from day one, so nothing ever needs to be handed over later and no part of your operation depends on retaining me. You own the app as built for you and all of your data, and a baseline export of that data always exists.

Every delivered item carries a 90-day warranty from its go-live: if something the app does fails to match its written spec, fixing it is my job at no charge. New features and changes of mind are new work, quoted like anything else.

05

After Delivery

When the warranty window closes, we pick an arrangement on purpose rather than defaulting into one: as-needed hourly work, a monthly retainer for fixes and updates, or simply re-engaging later when something new comes up.

This is a one-person practice and I say that plainly. You can expect a response within one business day, by email or text.

Step One Costs Nothing

Tell me how your business runs, and the next thing you receive is a written scope with a fixed price.
